Fox News Contributor: College Girls Crave Rape Victim Status

“Fox News contributor George Will dismissed claims of college sexual assault –using ‘scare quotes’ around the term– while stating students see victimhood as a “coveted status.”

Writing that college administrators are being “educated by Washington,” Will writes, “they are learning that when they say campus victimizations are ubiquitous” they are promoting the idea that victimhood is “a coveted status that confers privileges, victims proliferate.”

  1. Simply put, I can understand how such a person as Mr. Will could still be hanging around, all mentally ragged and living in the 14th or 15th Century. What I do not understand is how he maintains his lofty perch as some sort of supposedly legitimate social and political commentator. And I also do not understand how so many people of some modicum of education still give him some sort of credence as an opinion leader. He now sees rape as a means to social glory for college women (note, not “girls,” please.).Well, not so fast Mr. Will. This is like your call of the 2016 election.

I was for the better part of 45 years a Republican (moderate) activist and officer, and active in campaign management on the state level. We used to hear rumors about opinions similar to those of Mr. Will and Fox news in general, and then quietly lift a rock and place them under it, whence they came. Now those ideas are in full force in the GOP, leading to platforms and candidates at best fitting into the 1800s. Mr. Will called the 2016 election to be a landslide for Mr. Romney. He could not have been more wrong. Yet he carries on with his enormous salary and fees for speaking. And prominent roles as analyst, and opinion leader. And he has followers! This is more than lamentable, it is laughable. And once yu start being laughable, it is over. Just ask Sen. Larry Craig, or even former Gov. Sarah Palin.
