I like everything about President Carter, but saying “no violence” or “no shots” during his presidency ignores Operation Eagle Claw, which was a failure, contributed to Reagan’s victory, and resulted in the deaths of eight U.S. soldiers.. Had they gone through with the mission, it most certainly would have been extremely violent once they reached Tehran.
