Israel has been waging a brutal assault on the people of Gaza. The Israeli government has now launched a ground invasion on Gaza.
To date, the death toll from Israeli airstrikes on Gaza had reached 1100 people — all of them Palestinians, nearly all civilians — with at least 6000 wounded, according to the UN. The casualties are growing by the hour, with Israeli strikes on civilian homes, clearly-marked press vehicles, a home for the disabled, and even ambulances.
There is nowhere for people in Gaza to hide. The illegal blockade imposed on Gaza denies them medical supplies necessary to save lives. The Palestinians are barred from transportation, food, water, education and sanitation. Gaza is under the leadership of Hamas and they are an elected leadership even though they are internationally recognized as a terrorist organization.
The Israeli and U.S. media are depicting the war on Gaza as “self-defense,” even though only one Israeli has been killed and they have been waging an all-out assault with vastly superior weaponry. Israel uses weaponry that is illegal for civilian engagement.
With repeated attacks on helpless civilian targets, with the number of dead Palestinian women, children and elderly growing rapidly, the “war” can only be called one thing: a massacre.
Israel routinely breaks UN Security Council Resolutions, they have broken over 14. Under international law, all settlements in the West Bank are illegal. Currently, Israel has more than 900 settlements. This has created 4.7 million refugees.
The U.S. government, which provides billions in weapons and funding to the Israeli military, is uncritically supporting the Israeli war crimes. Since 1950, Israel has received $96 Billion in foreign aid, which is more aid than any other nation.
