Netanyahu Bragged He Has America Wrapped Around His Finger

“A newly released video of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could add some additional strain to the sometimes tense relationship between him and President Obama.

In the video, which is from 2001, Netanyahu — who reportedly did not know his speech was being recorded — speaks frankly in Hebrew about relations with the Clinton White House and the peace process.

As noted in Haaretz, Netanyahu seems to boast of his knowledge of the US by saying, “I know what America is. America is a thing you can move very easily, move it in the right direction. They won’t get in their way.””* The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

  1. One of the reasons I began watching Cenk going back to his early days at MSN was that Cenk had the courage to bring up topics that none of the other networks dared to cover. This topic (Israels’ real agenda) is a classic example. It is shameful, that in America we cannot openly discuss a topic such as this without being labeled as “Antisemitic” or Anti-Israel. Its a discussion…which makes some people uncomfortable…which is all the more reason we SHOULD have this discussion in a free and open society.

I myself have often hesitated to send up certain links and news reports for fear of being labeled this way myself. However, my conscience will not let me hold back from observations and commenting.

When Cenk was on Current TV, I would often watch TYT, Jon Stewart and Colbert almost daily. I honestly believe that Jon Stewart, who is a Jewish American himself, would agree with Cenk’s assessment and has made similar comments himself. Jon Stewart does it with comedy. Cenk does it with candor.

Unfortunately, I have worked close to a few of the people on this side of the Atlantic that are advocates for Netanyahu’s agenda. What many people are often confused about is whether it is actually Netanyahu’s agenda vs. the agenda of Dick Cheney and his friends at War Inc..working in Washington D.C.

The lines between the United States and Israel have become blurred since the G.W. Bush administration to the point that you really do not know at the end of the day who’s policy is actually driving the train of American-Israeli foreign policy. Almost all of our military Intelligence is shared with Israel and visa-verse.

Netanyahu’s political camp has many friends placed in key influential places in American government to many to name. As Netanyahu for a time attended American schools and even worked in the U.S. the lines are not as clear cut as with other foreign countries (He actually worked for Mitt Romney for a while).

Not wanting to sound like some “Alex Jones” nut job, I struggle with how the average voter/citizen really understands what is going on here. It has been written about in many well documented and respected books (i.e. “The Israel Lobby” etc.).

I do not like what little I know about the issue as it is deeply disturbing, being a retired active duty military member. I wish that what I know was not true, but that would be a lie.

Thank you Cenk for your bravery in bringing up this extremely controversial issue…

Cenk, you are one of the last true “intrepid” journalists of our modern time…

In my book, you rank with respected journalists like Edward R. Murrow.

    – Please do not stop what you are doing…no matter what the pressures may be…America needs this…even if they do not want to hear it.
