Finally, Climate Deniers Purged

In The Young Turks on YouTube by Hlarson2 Comments

“Good news for viewers of BBC News: You’ll no longer be subjected to the unhinged ravings of climate deniers and other members of the anti-science fringe. In a report published Thursday by the BBC Trust, the network’s journalists were criticized for devoting too much airtime (as in, any airtime) to unqualified people with “marginal views” about non-contentious issues in a misguided attempt to provide editorial balance.

“The Trust wishes to emphasize the importance of attempting to establish where the weight of scientific agreement may be found and make that clear to audiences,” the report reads. “Science coverage does not simply lie in reflecting a wide range of views but depends on the varying degree of prominence such views should be given.” So far, according to the Telegraph, about 200 staff members have attended seminars and workshops aimed at improving their coverage.” * Cenk Uygur (http://www.twitter.com/cenkuygur) and Ana Kasparian (http://www.twitter.com/AnaKasparian) break it down on The Young Turks.

  1. POLITICS is about CONSENSUS, SCIENCE is about EVIDENCES.

Galileo didn’t win any consensus while maintaining that Earth was round and moved around the sun, at a time when the Catholic church was influencing sciences the same way political parties are doing today. When Mendel invented genetics, he didn’t win any consensus too. He wasn’t contested just by respect since he was a priest, part of the powerful Catholic Clergy. He didn’t get any mention or credit by his peers decades after his death. However these guys were both rights.

Climate change is real. It has always existed even without human influence. The only thing we are doing, is just affecting the climate cycles, making them to shift faster. That’s why I don’t focus on it because it is not the best argument to use against polluters. Whether the planet is warming or cooling, the level of the planetary pollution we have today is simply not acceptable and should be address genuinely without any dubious plans to cash into the issue by ripping people off and rigging competition. Carbon Tax is simply not the answer, mostly when it comes from those who are pushing for the genetic pollution of the planet with GMOs.

I am still trying to figure you guys at TYT out. You sound like Alex Jones when you delve into conspiracy theories that someone who doesn’t agree with you must have been bought by some special interests. In fact it is very clear that you are the one who seems to be bought. You sound more like a propaganda channel than a news organization. I am also surprised to see you defending the main stream media that you claimed to be wrong on everything. Now finally you think that BBC is credible, when they boosted someone, just as MSNBC did with Cenk. My real issue with you guys is your lack of consistency – that is in fact an issue with logic.

I am “fair and balance”, that’s why I have been listening to TYT. I think I will have to dump you guys, though I like you much. I am more interested in the news presented in a much more professional way – news that are thoroughly investigated before being presented, that are presented by hosts who know their subjects, with help of guest experts in the field, with an openness to opposing opinions and that are debated intellectually instead of emotionally. I think I will stick with Democracy Now and Moyers & Company for the Liberal side of the news. I like their intellectual and civilized approach on issues – no cursing and name calling. I wish you guys good luck!
