A story involving sorority girls went viral when the ladies were caught on tape taking copious amounts of selfies at an Arizona Diamondbacks game. The girls faced a lot of ridicule for being so self involved. However they have turned this brief moment of fame into something great, as they have asked the team to help them support an organization that prevents domestic abuse. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian (The Point) hosts of The Young Turks discuss.

What do you think of the selfie girls? Do you like how they handled their minute in the spotlight? Let us know in the comments below.

“This week the members of Arizona State’s Alpha Chi Omega sorority divided the internet. The young women dared to take selfies at an Arizona Diamondbacks game instead of focusing their full attention on baseball. Those selfies proved highly controversial for some dumb reason. The least amused was, no doubt, the Diamondbacks announcers who were incensed by youth.

But the women of Alpha Chi Omega are taking it in stride and using their newly-found internet fame to spread good vibes. The sorority sisters were offered free tickets to Thursday night’s game but declined, instead asking the Diamondbacks and Fox Sports to “provide tickets to a future game for families at A New Leaf, a local non-profit that helps support victims of domestic violence.”

  1. Oh yeah, so these girls are shown up to be a bunch of narcissistic bubble heads so to mitigate their embarrassment they decide to support some cause or other. I’m not buying it for a minute.

  2. It’s stupid to pretend these girls were all taking selfies for some competition. Most of them are just fooling around on their phones. The one thing that is evident is that they have no interest in watching the game. If Bully and Boobs had shown more of the clip you would have seen a batter get a base hit and not one of these girls ever bothered to look up from their phone. So my question is, why would they pay to attend an event they have no interest in.
