The backlash against big game hunting continues, with even some Democratic Senators jumping into the ring to remove one of the main incentives: the trophies. The Conserving Ecosystems by Ceasing the Importation of Large (CECIL) Animal Trophies Act would ban the transport of parts of threatened or endangered animals. “Sen. Bob Menendez has introduced legislation to curb trophy hunting of endangered and threatened species after the demise of Cecil, an African lion whose death at the hands of an American hunter touched off a social media firestorm.
