A Texas cop is facing charges after he allegedly shot a female driver in a road rage incident earlier this month.

Kenneth Caplan, a reserve deputy with Harris County Precinct 6, was arrested on aggravated assault charges.

The unidentified 20-year-old woman said she was driving down the highway when a driver cut her off. She said she honked at him and then tried to get around him—at which point he allegedly rolled down his window and started firing a gun at her.

  1. I think there is something to be said for the cultural aggrandizement around force and violence as perfectly normal, understandable reactions to stressful, hurtful or challenging behavior as a contributing factor in police violence. Depictions of citizens as violent and dangerous have got to get ingrained in the minds of the police, which must result in a heightened a sense of fear. The police cannot serve and protect if they are afraid of the very people they are there to serve. Something has gone seriously wrong since we now seem to have miliary police not civilian peacekeepers.

  2. I live on the west coast of Canada, I have honestly have never had a positive experience with an officer of “the law.” I have had plenty of neutral and negative experiences, rudeness, false charges, ignorance. I know there are good people working for the police but I never seem to meet them…

  3. Does it matter that she was female? What’s that got to do with the cop’s actions? Would it have been more acceptable if it was a guy?

Unnecessary qualifiers are just that, unnecessary.

      1. Would you say a doctor misdiagnosed a patient, or would you say a female/male doctor misdiagnosed a male/female patient? Normally, you omit gender unless you need to emphasize it. That was my point, and Im not sure why it was emphasized here.

  4. My wife was murdered. The police arrested me, even though there was no evidence against me. Cops were caught lying on the stand Google Mike Meridith Bermuda and you’ll read my story.
