Police officers responded to a call about a man acting erratically at a Walmart in South Carolina. Witnesses filmed the two cops as they appeared to punch the man more than 10 times during the arrest. Watch a clip of the cops beating a suspect in the video.

They said he appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Although they struck the man twice with a stun gun, cops said the shock failed to incapacitate him. The officer seen striking the suspect has been put on leave pending an investigation into the officers using force.

  1. Hey Wazda, What’s a last resort? Do you need to get the whole Police department out before it’s called last resort? You’ve got a nice idea but practically, it’s not necessarily so simple.

It seemed a little calm in the video and it seems that they knew they were being videoed which means they probably felt that the situation justified it.

We’ll have to see if the Police department says that they followed correct procedure.

  2. The comment Henry made that this guy deserved a beatdown disturbs me… why do we as a society feel the need to justify violence against people who are acting strange? These cops should have subdued this guy as best they could and awaited backup to assist in extracting him from the walmart. That’s it, violent force ahould only be used as a last resort and by last resort I mean if there is absolutely no alternative.
