“Missouri Highway Patrol Captain Ron Johnson, the highway patrol captain placed in charge of security in Ferguson Missouri, was photographed making hand signs that some quickly thought were gang signs. The thing is, they were actually hand signs for the black fraternity Johnson has been part of, Kappa Alpha Psi.
The Washington Post’s Soraya Nadia McDonald in a post published early on Wednesday pointed out that the hand signs Johnson had been making in photographs some thought were gang signs were actually fraternity hand signs.”* The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur and John Iadarola (TYT University) break it down.

In watching this video entitled”Racists Gang Up On Captain Ron Johnson Over Hand Signs” I noticed something very ironic in your info-graphic behind the commentators. At 1:53 the info-graphic displays two pictures of Captain Ron Johnson with the caption “Kappa Alpha Gang Sign”. What you probably do not realize is that the Captain is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi”. “Kappa Alpha” is an entirely different organization altogether.
Kappa Alpha is an all white organization that proudly displays the rebel flag and is said to celebrate holidays such as J. Ray Day (James Earl Ray) on Martin Luther King Day. Kappa Alpha would never have anything to do with Ron Johnson.
I hope you see the irony. This should probably be corrected before someone that knows better gets offended.
