Dinesh D’Souza: ‘Obama wants to reduce America’s footprint on the world’
Cenk challenges Dinesh D’Souza’s claims that President Obama is reducing the influence of the United States worldwide and purposefully saddling the country with debt. “You can’t say that Obama, for 5 years, is simply carrying on the Bush legacy. Obama has had the chance to leave his footprint on both foreign policy and domestic policy,” D’Douza says.  “One of your theses in the book is that — oh, we’re giving so much aid to the rest of the world that we’re downsizing America,” Cenk says. “[But] we’ve spent an incredibly small amount of money in foreign aid, and most of it goes to the countries we’ve invaded.”

Todd Akin and Paul Ryan co-sponsored bills that would force rape victims to carry pregnancies from rape to term
Cenk makes it clear that not only did Rep. Todd Akin not misspeak when talking about “legitimate” and “forcible” rape, but he derived that language from bills co-sponsored with vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan. Cenk says, “They did a law — No Taxpayer Funding For Abortion Act. In that act, it says normally you can’t get Medicaid money for abortion, unless you’ve been raped. But they tried to change the law to say that rape is one thing, but it has to be ‘forcible rape.'”

  1. lol D’Souza is so stunningly full of shit, it is truly something to behold. I’d love to see the full interview. He is actually right when he says that the deficit was never more than $500bn under Bush, but the projected deficit for 2009 was $1.2tn. So Cenk is also right when he says Obama inherited a deficit of $1.3tn.
